Do I really need assistance from a moving company?
Interstate moves are physically demanding, time-consuming, and can be dangerous. If driving a heavy moving truck through such treacherous conditions as rain, ice, snow, mountainous terrain, darkness, or congested cities doesn’t worry you enough, just remember that you’re also on the hook if the truck gets damaged. Hiring a professional will result in less stress and an easier, safer relocation. Moving can be both emotionally and physically draining and handling delicate or bulky items with care requires specific moving skills and experience. Moving safely and successfully requires specialized equipment and experience, unlike other trades. Although most people will try anything to save on moving expenses, your safety should always come first.
What should I do with my stuff if I can't move in immediately?
Just in case your new home isn’t quite ready for delivery, we offer flexible storage options. We’ll keep your possessions safe inside our 24-hour secure, climate-controlled facility with state-of-the-art camera surveillance and fire/theft protection.
Are you equipped to move vehicles?
Yes. We have a long standing relationship with several trusted car carriers, who are equipped specifically for the transportation of automobiles. If you’re interested in this service, please contact us for more information.
If you have dogs, cats, or birds, make sure you schedule a vet visit for a health exam, as your pet will likely need a signed health certificate from your vet. If you have dogs or cats older than three months, you'll probably also need to get documentation of current rabies vaccines. Most states require you to have these documents signed within the 30-day period before you move. If you're hiring movers, they cannot transport your pets for you, so you'll need to arrange transportation for them on your own. Since moving can be very stressful for animals, you may want to bring your pets with you in your personal vehicle to reduce the anxiety as much as possible. If you know you probably won't have room, you can hire a professional pet transport service or even fly your pet to your destination - whichever works best for you.
What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections should not travel with the moving truck. We strongly recommend that you carry irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their transport. Do not pack or ship your fine jewelry, precious metals, irreplaceable family photos and smaller items, important papers (titles, tax forms, bank books, deeds, etc.), medical and dental records, prescriptions, coins, currency, stock certificates, notes or bonds. These items should be carried with you during your move.
Do you offer professional packing services?
Whether you want only the fine china packed, or the contents of your entire home, we can help. We offer full professional packing services (aka White Glove), so you can focus on other important details of your move. We provide all the materials (boxes bubble wrap, packing paper, tape, etc.), and all the labor necessary to pack up your home. Simply remove the items you don't want packed or handled by our team, empty your garbage cans, and leave the rest to us. If you're interested in a quote for White Glove service, simply reach out to our team.
Do you offer virtual estimates?
To better service the community, we offer Virtual Estimates. By reducing the need for physical interaction, virtual walkthroughs help maintain social distancing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and until safety precautions are no longer necessary. Our trained professionals will provide you with the most accurate quote in a quick, efficient, and safe manner. As you guide us through your home, room by room, be sure to point out any items your moving expert cannot see or wouldn't anticipate. If you're interested in a virtual estimate, simply reach out to our team.
What's the difference between a Broker and a Carrier?
Brokers do not have the operational and logistical capabilities moving companies have. They don't have moving trucks, professional movers, proper moving equipment, and in most cases, not much moving experience. On move day, a crew from a different company than the one you talked to will load and drive your belongings cross-country. It's possible that this crew never even spoke to the broker who booked it, causing miscommunication, additional costs, and a myriad of potential disasters on the big day. Brokers are sales teams that book your move from call centers located all over the world, and sell it to a professional moving company. Sometimes the broker isn't able to sell the job for various reasons (low estimates, availability, resources,) and in this case you're stuck without a mover at the worst possible time.
Why is a deposit required to book my move?
A deposit helps protect both the customer and the moving company. It ensures that the move date is booked and reserved, so customers can begin planning, packing, and preparing. It also safeguards the moving company against last-minute or short-notice cancellations and date changes, which results in lost time and resources. Unlike other companies, we never overbook our reservations calendar, so a 20% deposit is required to hold your preferred dates. Dates can be changed, brought forward, or pushed back as needed, without any additional penalties or fees.
